Card of the Day - Hellfire Battalion

There are creatures that have flying. I do not understand these creatures! They are difficult to hit with normal attacks of hellfire because they are not on the ground. Why is this so? Sometimes I catch and kill these creatures when they have stopped flying. I ask them who is the flying one now but it is not any of us because they are dead. My jaws are very strong!

  1. It's a very cool card, but I have a question. What happens if you activate his effect and target a creature and in response that creatures controller gives it flying? Is the ability countered, or is the creature just not destroyed, although the battalion is?

It's strong against everything except blue and probably white. Which is neat. Most really big powerful creatures are on the ground, so he can take them out for relatively cheaply.

  2. I'm pretty sure that the ability would be countered, just like Terror is if the creature becomes black or Eyeblight's Ending is if the creature becomes an Elf. What I really like about this card is that you can use its ability multiple times before it hits the bin. The stack is truly magical.

I feel like it should be uncommon, though.

  3. Oh yeah, with no tap you can do it multiple times. Like if you can untap Mangara of Krondor or the Lich Lord of Unx's second ability. Or the Frenetic Efreet's ability, more accurately.
