Metamorphosis Prerelease Card(s)

I promised a special treat. I lied.

Metamorphosis has been going on for a while, hasn't it? Quite a few cards. Quite a few. There have been a couple from Al's set, a couple from Nameless One's set, a couple from Shore Snapper's set, a couple from Utopia, but many more from Metamorphosis. About time we found out what the prerelease card is, no? Or, rather, the five prerelease cards. Remember that cycle of dual lands from Multiverse? Well, turns out they're in Metamorphosis now. Also, they are the prerelease cards.

This is a terrible idea, by the way. Either event coordinators would have to pass out a copy of each to every person or they would have to find some way of determining which to give to each person. Put them all in a bag and draw one out? There'd be disappointment there, maybe a bit of feeling cheated, if you didn't get the one you want. Disappointment is a terrible thing for a prerelease card to be associated with.

Regardless, here are the cards:

Familiar, no?

Hey, new art! Snazzy!

Snore

...snore?

I'm actually somewhat sleepy.

Still, these are pretty cool.

My least favorite art and least favorite name of the originals.

My least favorite art and least favorite name of the new ones.

So much better than Hermit's Hovel.

Eh. This one isn't great, but at least it's not Jungle Ravine. It was a little tricky to find art to match the name.

Land Friday

A couple of weeks overdue. No matter.

I've got a special treat for all you Land Friday fanatics out there (i.e. myself). I'll post it later today or sometime tomorrow or a month from now. Cheers!

And now it's working again. You'd think somebody going into computer science would understand this sort of thing better. Really, though, it's not lack of skill that's holding me back, just lack of effort.

Besides, it's working. Isn't that proof?

Land Friday Postponed

Oh bugger. MSE ain't workin' properly. See, all those cards I just put up were saved on this site already and now I can't get Magic Set Editor to open. I'll get today's land up as soon as I can to placate the desperate Land Friday fanatics (of which there are no doubt many). In the meantime, I'll introduce Al Capone, the newest Ancient Byzantine Engineer. You may already know him as Frank Sinatra. He's gonna be raving about his so-called amazing 3-0 draft deck and posting a card tomorrow while I'm in Utopia (again).

I went 3-0 in drafts before it was cool.

EDIT: Al has fallen victim to one of the many traps blogger likes to set up. See, posts show up on the time and date that you start writing them, not when you actually post them. To illustrate this, I'm going to start three now and post them whenever the whim strikes me (i.e. whenever I remember). All three will show up as if they've been posted today, be we know better, don't we?

Land Friday

I'm using the old Multiverse set symbol because the new one is for the second set in the block. You can't have basics in the second set.

Land Friday, what a rebel.

Card of the Day - Hermitage

Anyone remember Hermit's Hovel? I do, but not fondly. Didn't like the name, and only sorta liked the art. So I've updated it.

Come to think of it, didn't like the set symbol either, but that got fixed a while back.

Never enough fervor.

I bet you though I'd continue that Placid Canal cycle. I bet you thought I'd finish it off with enemy-color lands.

You thought wrong.

Land Friday

Land Friday's primary purpose is to get land artwork out there for anyone who wants to use it. Good artwork is hard enough to find, but lands are particularly tricky.

Nice Plains, eh? I didn't draw it; Wes Jones did. Enjoy!

Land Friday

Alara Reborn is up on gatherer. The full set (with card images and everything). Enjoy.

Sadly, I won't be able to attend the prerelease. I wish luck to all those who can go. And remember to play Jund. All other shards are WEAK AND PUNY. What happens when a plane of predators collides with four planes of prey? Jund wins is what happens. You can keep your fancy necromancy, your sigils, your behemoths, and your etherium because every single living thing on Jund is going to kill you and eat you. Thanks to Grixis, a lot of the dead things will too.

Those who forget their past are doomed to be eaten by it.

God I love Jund.

Took me this long to realize that I'd forgotten all about Land Friday for two weeks in a row. Please forgive this terrible oversight and have a happy Easter (if doing so suits you).

Land Friday

The long-awaited cycle-finisher. It's only a week or so late.
