Card of the Day - Touch of Lunacy

Inspired by Wistful Thinking

Oh, and you may or may not have noticed that I don't always post the card of the day one the exact day, as it were. Deal with it. This'n here's for Wednesday, February 4th, 2009. That ought to set you straight on the other ones.

A Measure of Nerdiness

So it seems that mightygodking has a handy guide to nerdiness. And you know I love nothing better than this sort of thing. Or maybe you don't know. Irrelevant.

Let's see how much of a nerd I am!

BATMAN: Not nerdy. I've read batman comics other than those two, but why buy when you can just mooch? The Miser strikes again!
STAR WARS: Dangerously Nerdy. I hate Jar-Jar, but I'll defend anything. I also own a lightsaber, but it is no toy. It is a powerful weapon and a great responsibility. I wield with great honor in an extremely amusing fashion.
HARRY POTTER: Fairly Nerdy. I owned a wand, but they broke it when I got expelled. I still keep the pieces. Would you like to see?
MAGIC THE GATHERING: Really Nerdy. I've figured this one out. It's not really you, see? You're just roleplaying. You're not a planeswalker, you're portraying one - a different one depending on which deck you run. Fer instance, I think of my goblin deck's walker as a crazy cat lady, except with goblins.
H.P.LOVECRAFT: Dangerously Nerdy. I stopped reading them, though, because "Herbert West—Reanimator" freaked me out.
NERD TELEVISION: Nerdy. I also watch(ed) Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, but that might just make me a freak. "But you guys can't be a bridge!"
STAR TREK: Not Sure. Where does Voyager fall on this list?
COMPUTER USE: Slightly Nerdy. For the record, I hate Macs. Why? It was an arbitrary decision, and I never go back on those.
ADDENDUM: I play Dungeons and Dragons, belong to a comic book appreciation club, and CREATE MY OWN FUCKING MAGIC CARDS. Almost 1000 of them, at this point.

Aw nuts, I just noticed there's no scoring system. Just gonna have to arbitrarily decide.

I am nerdy.

There! I have decided!

THERE IS NO GOING BACK NOW.

Card of the Day - Eldritch Colossus

There is just so much wrong with a 20-power creature. This guy could not see print.

Enjoy!

Original Art

I am Dissapointed at the World in General, but at the People on www.blogger.com in Particular

So out of all the people who read Max's Birthday, I was the only one who liked it enough to list it as a favorite book? Shame on you, world. Max's Birthday is quality literature.

I'm talking, of course, about the original version. With the dragon. The lobster version isn't worth a shit. Way to sell out, Rosemary Wells. You turned my favorite childhood series into a whore for The Man.

I capitalized 'The Man'. Did you see? That was to show you how strongly I feel about this.

Which is very strongly.

I maybe should have made myself more clear.

EDIT: Son of a bitch. I can't find the original Max's Birthday anywhere on the Google. This is just like 1984, only with a children's book about anthropomorphic rabbits. THE TRUTH CANNOT BE SUPPRESSED, ROSEMARY WELLS A.K.A. BIG BROTHER.

EDIT EDIT: I would just like to clarify that Rosemary Wells is not really Big Brother. That was an allusion.

Card of the Day - Slaughterhouse Madman

Haha! What a terrible card.

He was influenced by my favorite D&D villains I've ever created - the slaughterhouse boys. The stole a church bell or something stupid like that. God knows what they were going to do with it. Then they fucked the PCs' day up by leaping out of meat lockers, dual-wielding meat cleavers, spearing pigs on meat hooks and using them as shields, and generally being batshit insane. Searching for the town bell, that's demeaning enough. But what's really humiliating is getting your ass handed to you by a bunch of meat-packing dorks half your level.
This was, of course, before the PCs were run out of town, leaving someone locked in a meat locker and abandoning their adorable urchin sidekick to die in a fire. It was also before they slaughtered all the members of a caravan and bankrupted an entire country. By accident.

They were the best heroes ever.

Useful, but not sicknasty

I did play one game where Rockslide Elemental got up to a 15/15. But that's another story.

Card of the Day - Mangle

Based on Nemesis's Topple. I'm not sure if I got the wording right on this, but the idea is that the target only has to have the greatest power among attacking creatures. If you and your opponent both have Hill Giants and your opponent attacks with a Grizzly Bears, you should be able to Mangle the grizzly.
